Be At My First Ever Social Media Event

As I have said before, I hate that people charge money to go to blogging conferences.  I know that this is a necessary thing to do at one of these things because of all the cost involved, but, after speaking at my last blogging conference in Ohio, I realized just how expensive it was to go to one of these things!

This got me to pondering on how I could create something for new bloggers where you wouldn’t have to spend an arm and a leg to get great information on how to succeed with your blog.

So I came up with an idea, actually Allie Rambles came up with the idea of where to have it, I just stole it from her! Lol! I know she doesn’t care anyway!

Wow, that was a bad sentence structure!

Anyway, the idea I came up with was to host my first ever social media event on Twitter called Social Media Marketing Strategies for 2013!

The first thing I wanted to do was to bring in valuable bloggers that can really help newbie’s on the road to success.  Why have an event if you aren’t going to be able to get anything out of it right?

So my main focus was to use people who actually care about the little guy.  People that really want to help.

The people I chose for this event are

  • Marcus Sheridan of The Sales Lion- Why Marcus?  You would think that this guy, being as successful as he is, really wouldn’t give bloggers like you and me the time of day.  In my experience, Marcus has always been kind and helpful to me.  In my opinion, he is the KING of content marketing and the go-to guy that many companies and organizations have chosen to help bring their businesses up to par online.  Marcus has spoken at a lot of conventions and seminars, so this will not be his first rodeo.  I chose Marus, even though his horse sits high, he has always responded to any questions that I have had in the past.  This guy is really a keeper for newbie bloggers because I really feel that he wants to help you succeed.  You can follow Marcus for this event here
  • Allie Rambles of Ramblings of a WAHM- I chose each of these people because of personality and willingness to help others.  Allie is no different.  From the very first moment I contacted her, we have been friends ever since!  She is one of the top “mommy” bloggers out there today and has a very large following of women who refer to her site for many helpful tips on how to make some extra money online.  You can follow Allie for this event here
  • - Ileane is the epitome of being a helping hand to bloggers of all kinds.  Her blog caters to people who want to get noticed online by offering a platform with which to launch your new blog from through a guest post gig.  Ms Ileane, as I call her, has never been slack with helping me do different things online.  She is known for saying “forget Google and let’s build relationships!” Very nice, and you can follow Ms Ileane here
  • Me from BloggersMakeMoney- I really don’t know what to say for myself except pat me on the back for getting this together!  I hope this will open doors for you and your blog!  You can follow me for this event here, I will be moderating and answering questions as well.

The Whole Point

Why do this?  Because its not every day that you can see people of this caliber talking about their secret strategies for social media.  You would have to pay upwards of $200 just to see a line-up like this at a blogging convention!

Let’s face it.  With everything Google has came out with in the past, eventually getting to the first page of this search engine will be impossible.  Making a place for your blog through social media tactics is a great strategy to adapt to, and with the help of these seasoned bloggers, you will be able to see what you may be missing in your blogging strategy!

You may follow this Twitter discussion and jump in any time you would like from we will be using #SocialStrat as the keyword so you can find the event!

Don’t Forget to Ask!

In conclusion, I would like to encourage you to think about what you want to ask these professionals.  If you have a pressing question right now that you would like me to save for you, put it in the comment section with the name of the person the question is directed to and your Twitter link.
