The Best Twitter Tools For Traffic and Networking

One of the best Twitter tools that you can use is not one that only brings traffic, but also one that converts traffic as well.  Sadly, they don’t make one that converts traffic, but they should, right?

Surprisingly, most people I talk to doesn’t get great traffic response from Twitter.  Having to say what you need to say in 140 characters seems a bit hard, and it feels like you may be better going to MySpace and driving what’s left of the traffic over there to your site.

If you aren’t using Twitter for your social media strategy, then you should be.  I want to talk to you about Twitter and some ways that you can really bring this platform to turn around to be one of the best traffic-getting social media sites online!

What I Think The Best Twitter Tools Are

While researching this post out, I thought I would search for all of the Twitter tools that one could actually use for their site.  Sadly, I stopped when I realized that there are literally over one million tools that you can use to your benefit AND your demise!best twitter tools

So out of sheer boredom, I stopped looking.

What really benefits me when I read someone’s blog post is when they tell me their experiences with different things: what they recommend or hate, that sort of stuff.  This will be no different.  I want to disclose some of the best twitter tools that I personally use to both get traffic and keep tabs on your friends, and people you’re trying to establish a relationship with.

The best Twitter tools to use for traffic

These are my favorite to write about.  I get so excited when I talk about different Twitter tools, and I’m sorry, but I get excited because this is where the majority of my traffic comes from.  This is my bread and butter.

Twitter Automator:  TweetAdder

A Twitter automator is something that you can use to schedule tweets for the future.  What I mean is, with one of these tools you don’t have to worry about staying on Twitter 24/7.  It’s doing the work for you and bringing great traffic every day because you are constantly tweeting updates.

Tweet Adder is one of the best Twitter tools because when you link your Facebook account to your Twitter account, you are actually posting to two major social media sites!

I highly recommend this tool because not only does it bring in steady traffic for me every day, from two social sites, it also helps me manage a lot of things on Twitter while I can’t be there.

TweetAdder’s best functions:

I see people on Twitter that have tweet after tweet after tweet popping up, taking up everyone’s space…this is a great way to lose followers, and while you’re legitimately trying to be nice and share someone’s blog post to Twitter, you can always tell when someone doesn’t have a tool like this because they have a long line of recent tweets hogging the atmosphere.

the best twitter tools

As you can see, this is basically the main page that I stay on.  You can minimize TweetAdder to your toolbar and it will run all day and all night.

A couple of features on this page are: You can edit your updates anytime you want.  The blank space is where you will put your recurring tweets.  You can play around with wording, but I have found that using catchy titles in updates is a great way to bring in more visits from this platform.  Some people will only use their blog post title, however, if that’s not catchy enough to bring in people, then you may have to re-think it.

Under the update bar, you will see that you can schedule your tweets.  This is what is going to be so important in your strategy.  First of all, you don’t want to be one of those people that are constantly posting updates, filling up everyone else’s timeline.  That’s not good.  I have found that I can schedule tweets about every 13-15 minutes, and still allow other people their tweets as well.

This is just one of the many features that you can use with TweetAdder. There are follow and nofollow features, retweets of different accounts you are following, and a long line of other great things. I totally recommend this Twitter tool!

The best Twitter tools for activity and networking

Tweet Deck is one of my favorite things to use for Twitter.  It really opens up the platform for people that are really trying to network and keep up with other activities on this social media site.  With Tweet Deck, it’s all about the user.  You can monitor different feeds from Twitter by opening up anything that interests you without leaving your timeline stream.

best twitter tools

With Tweet Deck you can pick from different keywords you want to stay in touch with, friends, etc in different streams.

As with any social media platform, Twitter has trends that are hot every day.  These are basically hot keywords that people are using or searching on Twitter.  With breaking down your feed like this, you can keep tabs on different hot trends on Twitter.

Speaking of trending keywords, and this is something you’re going to have to keep up with to bring traffic to your site, I use a site called to stay up to date on the most used trendy words on Twitter.  You can search for trends by location or day, and it will really help you drive more traffic.

Basically, you can search for a couple of trends here and then watch them by creating a column on TweetDeck for that certain word.  You can see how many people are actually using this keyword and what they are trying to accomplish with it.

The Best Twitter Tools For Networking

One of the most important things that you can do for your blog is to create relationships, follow blogs, and build friendships. Doing this on Twitter is no different. is a great tools for managing your communities on Twitter. Not only does this help you cultivate your followers on Twitter, it also helps you build important relationships. organizes your Twitter feed into three different types:

  1. High influencing people
  2. People that are known for supporting
  3. People that really stay engaged on Twitter

Pick and choose from what sites and keywords you want to look for when establishing a relationship

The reasons that this tool is one of the best Twitter tools out there is because it allows you to monitor people that you want to build a relationship with and also gives you the benefit of watching those people that have shared and re-tweeted your updates on Twitter.  It is a great tool for monitoring all kinds of different activity that is related to you and your blog.

This is one of the best Twitter tools that you can use for engagement!  It’s a great way to keep up with friends and other people that you are trying to build relationships with.  What I like about the tool is that I can build groups around people that are in the same niche as I am.  For instance, I have Jeff Bullas, Kim Garst, Ileane Smith, and Michael Stelzner all built into one social media group.  I can go to this group and see what these people have been saying.

There are endless possibilities with this tool, and it is seriously one of the best Twitter tools for networking that you can get, and it’s free!

In Conclusion:

These are some of the best Twitter tools that you can have for your Twitter account.  Let’s face it, you’re not going to have enough time to implement all of the Twitter programs out there, so having some that will give you the most bang for your buck is what you’re going to want to find.

Like me, you’re just going to have to browse the tools yourself and see which one’s are the best Twitter tools for your account.  What do you think?  Do you have a Twitter tool that you really like using that brings a lot of value to your account?

    Hey bro,
    Where have you been man?
Recently, i have been thinking of grabbing TweetAdder. I have read quite some reviews and I know it’s an excellent tool. I may finally make up my mind to acquire the license.

I have been on but never really used it. Your post is a reminder and I’ll create time to re-look into it

    Thanks for the share

    • Being the recent owner and creator of EasyRetweet I would have thought that you would have already dominated this product! You’re the man Enstine! I don’t mean to be a stranger, but things are getting so hectic for me!

BTW Here on iTechCode we wrote 20 Twitter Tools, Hope it will be useful too :

    • Surprisingly the creator of actually just saw this post yesterday. I was really pleased to know that he was excited to see this mentioned. It’s a great product!

  5. I have been using Twitter for a while now but I don’t have a systematic method for generating tons of traffic from it. I have two active accounts. The one I use to syndicate other bloggers stuff is generating a lot more traffic then the one I have branded to me.

Been trying to turn that all around for a while. Hopefully I can take lessons learned from the one to help the other.

  6. Sian Phillips says:

Thanks for these recommendations. I would be lost without Tweetdeck but haven’t used the other too yet. I use Socialoomph for scheduled updates and liking that at the moment. Thanks for sharing this on

    • It’s an honor to have you on the site! I too have used Social Oomph, however, it is a little pricey for new bloggers so I promote TweetAdder. Just as efficient and works like a charm!

  7. As we all know twitter is one of the way to get traffic on your site/blog because this is one the top site in social media and if you will have these kind of tools for your twitter account then no one can stop you to earn many things beside money.

  8. Kristine says:

Thank you for these ideas you have here. Tweetdeck for me is a really helpful tool. Twitter is one of the good ways to get traffic. Your post can be really helpful to twitter users. thanks for the share!

  9. Excellent points here. I’m definitely going to start using Twitter a lot more often now. I’ll be sure to help. Thank you for sharing!

  10. Competition in every business is so tough these days, that it’s easy to see how stress can become a serious issue. Heavy competition and heavy work loads lead to pressure on your mind, Social media sites like twitter is the answer.

    • Well, yes, it’s one of the answers I guess. But a well ironed strategy will include a lot more than just Twitter. It’s everything as a whole working like a well-oiled machine together.

  11. Veronica says:

Thank you so much for these tips. I can definitely use these tools for online product promotion.

  12. Suresh Khanal says:

TweetDeck is my all-time favorite twitter client. The way it presents all the required messages side by side.
I used TweetAdder for some time but the problem with it is that you need to turn on your PC for ever. Anyway a very effective tool! is something new I was not using yet. Taking the first taste of it now :)

  13. I love Twitter, next to Facebook. These Twitter tools that you talked about are what I need in order to make tweeting easier and more fun for me. Thanks!

  14. Hi Wade. Thanks for the great info. I recently started with Twitter and am on the lookout for useful tools. I had not heard of TweetAdder before…looks to be very powerful. Thanks for the tip on What The Trend! I can’t wait to get going with it.
This was my first time visiting your blog and I will be a repeat reader :)
    Thanks again.

    • Hey Lisa, welcome to my blog, and I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’m pretty personal with my readers and if I can answer any questions just let me know!

  15. Kevin Cron says:

    Hi Wade
Great article, I have used TweetAdder in the past for getting followers and following people back. Yeah I got slapped ;) Do you use it that way at all or just for tweeting and retweeting?

    • I don’t use it very much for following and follow back. Mostly for tweeting and retweeting. I want to make it as natural as possible.

  16. You have to be careful with TweetAddr. More than one person has gotten their accounts banned for autofollowing too aggressively. Hootsuite is generally more popular than TweetDeck, but some do prefer it. is my favorite Twitter engagement tool and ManageFlitter is best for making room to follow new tweeps.

  17. Lalit Kumar Barik says:

I was totally unknown about these tools but now I feel that it will surely help me to get a good amount of traffic for my blog and now on I am going to use these tools. Thanks Wade Harman for such wonderful information.

  18. Hey Wade, I use the same tools, especially TweetAdder and TweetDeck but somehow I’m missing Buffer in this list. I would be and go nowhere without it I guess… Aren’t you using it to schedule and time your tweets?

    • No, for me Buffer is a waste of time because you have to keep “feeding the monster” every day. Ain’t nobody got time for Dat!

      • Robert Weller says:

I can’t agree on that argument. Buffer’s a time saver for me because I can basically schedule all my posts for the day (that of course depends on hwo many tweets you publish per day) within 5 minutes, for example from out of my rss reader. The monster’s a well trained pet for me ;-)

        • I concur that it is initially a time saver for most people. My personal opinion is the simple fact that I don’t like that you have to feed it every day. I wrote a review of a killer product that you only have to feed it once and it keeps them going on a recurring basis. All I have to do is when I write another post, just feed it that one and it keeps going.

No certain frame for posting in any order, and I’ve never had any trouble with this…partially because I don’t tweet every 5 minutes with it either. But I prefer that tool over Buffer for the simple fact that I’ve got so much stuff to do anyway, I’d rather not worry about my tweets not getting out there if I don’t feed it, or not have time to do so.

          • Robert Weller says:

I see what you mean, but I don’t think this is what Buffer is there for. It’s not about feeding the same tweets every day but to schedule various tweets about interesting articles in order to post them at “perfect” times.

I do recurring tweets with a different tool, too, but I don’t want to spam the same tweets all day/week long. Buffer is there for my tweets for the day. I mostly fill up the queue in the morning and “forget” about twitter till evening. I call that time saving ;-)
