Blogging Tips:How To Eat An Elephant

Blogging takes on many forms.  To be able to successfully devour the blogging task and be successful, you can’t just put your bib on and tackle the whole job at one sitting at the dinner table!

I applaud your continuity, but blogging is like eating an elephant.  There is no way you can finish in one sitting.

The Appetizer

I don’t really know which part of an elephant that you would prefer to eat first, blogging tipsbut as in all dinner settings,  you have to prepare to eat before you can actually dive in.

Same with blogging.  Before you can start reaping the rewards of your blog, you have to be set up properly with the right tools.

Here are some to get you started:

  • Great theme
  • Great hosting
  • Great plugins
  • Great content

There is just too much stuff to start off with at first.  I know you want to be the best blogger that you can be, and also be successful, but you may be biting off pieces that are too big for you to swallow.

Take slow and steady bites

There are a lot of people who will tell you to just jump right in to the deep end of the pool and learn to swim. I don’t recommend that. It’s too cold out here in the deep end, learn to swim in the kiddie pool first.

Building an online presence is going to take a while, especially in blogging. Not only do you have to get your site noticed on social media platforms, you also have to build your integrity with these people.

You’re not going to be able to eat it all at one sitting.

Pace yourself. The best thing that I could ever tell anyone is to stay consistent. Be there for your readers. Whether you have 2 or 2,000, stay on top of things! Word of mouth is what you need to shoot for.

Now I’m not saying that SEO, social media, and other strategies don’t work, because they do. But when you can get people to think about your site without you having to constantly remind them through one of these mediums all the time is when you have succeeded.

Be Brilliant

Let your blog do the talking. Don’t post junk either. That’s the fastest way to get someone to never come back to your site again!

When you cater to your reader and offer legitimate products that you either use yourself, or know that will help them, then offer these things.

Nobody wants relish on their elephant! They are trying to eat one too and you can leave a bad taste in someone’s mouth when you refer them to scam sites or sites that are full of fluff and promises that don’t deliver.

Use the right tools for the job

Blatantly obvious, right? You wouldn’t bring a knife to a gun fight, therefore this poses the same principles. Use the best products to help you get noticed online!

There are many ways that you can do this, the first of which is probably the most important, and I use it myself, see how I get thousands of Twitter visits per day!

In Conclusion

Eating an elephant will take a while to do, but you can do it…one bite at a time. Don’t get over excited! I know its awesome that you have started your new path as a blogger, but believe me, you’ve got a long road ahead of you. Keep at it and you will eventually devour the beast…after all, there’s more out there like it!
