How I Got One Of The Internet’s Most Successful Bloggers To Talk To Me

Reaching Out for That Pro

We all read from the professionals this statement:make sure you get to know the other bloggers, this will help you get your name out there!

By no means am I a professional blogger, I am no John Chow. I have seen many blogs online where they tell us to try to stay connected to other bloggers. I have even read one pro blogger who said this, try to get in touch with a pro blogger and let them help you in some ways…Okay, that sounded like a great idea, so I tried to contact him. Nothing. Not even a peep!

No big deal, who is going to talk to me anyway, right? In my mind I can see the pro bloggers who are at the top of the pile, wearing white jackets, with smoke rising up around them in a dark room laughing manaically at their evil blogs and how they have captured Google and is holding it hostage from all of us new guys!

All we want is traffic!

We already know how Blog Commenting Can Help, we understand the purpose and the benefits of Search Engine Optimization, and we have came to realize the importance of Building A List. We even understand how Social Media Traffic is necessary, and plays a huge role in getting our blog the traffic that it needs. However, we still don’t have that one thing.

A pro blogger’s blessing on our site

Mike Rowe, the host of Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs said it best when he told a business owner, “I’m here to slow down production, lose you money, and, in general, dumbfound this whole project!”

It seems as though all of the professional bloggers today are sitting high on there thrones looking down on the one’s coming up behind them, hiding their secrets, not giving any links, and in general, dulling our efforts of blogging!

Except one…

bloggersTraffic is something we all want and need to make money with our blog. My blog traffic comes and goes as it pleases and there is no rhyme nor reason to the chaos. On one of these days, while weeping, wailing, and gnashing my teeth, I gave up and sent an email to a professional blogger, who by the way, is one of the top 3 most influential bloggers online, in a last ditch effort to try to seek out his knowledge and get his approval. (I have written many professional bloggers…people that make more money in a month than what my whole house is worth! This always led to disappointment and denial every time.) However today, Thursday, June 21, 2012, I recieved a reply from John Chow at  This genius makes $40,000 per month just from blogging!  Even a nofollow link from this guy would make all the difference!

I have been reading his blog, and I really enjoy it thoroughly! I love the way he could care less about Google! He plainly states in one of his ebooks that Google is second and the reader comes first. This is where my idea originated from. Focusing more on the reader is how I want to approach my blog. Giving the reader, not Google, the high quality, rich content that they want is what I have designed this blog to be about! John Chow is no joke…I guess I can cross him off my evil blog list! Thanks for the email John.  To everyone else, remember my name!  I am here to stay, giving my readers great tips and info on how to make their blog better!

  1. Hi,
I am a newbie too. I guess if you would help me and teach me in some ways on how to be a good money maker on blogs, I guess I won’t add you on my evil list ( jokes, I don’t have an evil list).
I would love to know your advices. I agree on yours here that those men who are in higher ladders do not commit themselves to us newbies to know the *other details on blogging and traffic.
I want to add more but I am afraid if you would even answer this.
Will reply back if you do, got me noted via email.
Thanks man, I truly admire your direct approach on your title here. Make them notice you soon.
Your humble fan (from now onwards),

  2. Congratulations Wafe Harman for your reply from John Chow,
I also try to connect with ProBloggers daily, but I haven’t received any reply from them yet. I will keep trying. I have sent an email to Darren of ones but the Georgina Laidlaw the editor of ProBlogger replied me. I was very happy for that.

BTW this is such an awesome post bro. Thanks for sharing it here.
Have a pleased day my friend.

Always good to hear a successful networking story, especially when it comes from someone of high repute like John Chow. Glad to see that quality content should be the main focus, as it should be. If you give people a reason to be interested chances are they will be. Good article, look forward to reading more from you.

One of the things you start to get when you are already famous is “mass effect”, you can start to leverage more and more from your visitors, which is the John Chow case. Also, his domain name and slogan “make money online” is catchy by itself.

  5. Arbaz Khan says:

Yeah, I too agree on that.
Even I have sent out some mails to the top bloggers around as I wanted to know something about them to write in one of my post.
It was John Chow’s reply that I got the fastest, i just two hours, whereas other replies came only after 2-3 days. He is surely great and so are his ebooks.
