Dismantling the Social Media Giants-Operation Facebook

This post is the beginning of a social media blogging series that I am doing. I want to cover all the popular social media sites, help you learn some tricks with them, and basically get your “page” better.

On the other side of the internet marketing coin is a person who is searching for your site. They don’t know it yet, but they are on the right route to eventually seeing your blog! On one side of this coin is a person who frantically builds links and updates his social media, the other side is a person who is leisurely strolling social media sites for fun with no idea about that link he/she will click in the not too distant future.

Social media is the perfect place to attain new visitors. Facebook is one of these places where the traffic will come from. However, you must have made yourself available to that potential visitor in some way. Whether its updating your profile picture, or some small thing like this, people want to see potential in you and your Facebook page.

Facebook 101

While getting that potential visitor and your URL to converge on the same point in space and time may be difficult, there are othersocial media things that you have control over. For instance, to the average Facebook user, you have to think what they are on there for. Believe me, not everyone is on there to click your link and buy your stuff. This is why its really important to “friend” everyone that has the same desires and backgrounds are you have. It’s okay to just go off the handle and fly wild with the friend requests I guess, but in order to get more opportunities on your URL you want to search out people that have the same goals as you do.

You can usually find these people at different “pages” on Facebook by searching them out.

If you are an internet marketer on Facebook, there are some things that you have to do that are necessary for more friends and eventually more clicks. You have many options to choose from to allow people to get in touch with you. Here are some of the options:

  • Regular Profile
  • Facebook “Page”
  • Facebook “Group”

These are just some of the few options that you can use to promote your URL or product, or simply get your name out there.

Learning the basics:

On your Facebook profile, the more information that you can put on there, the better off you will be.  Pictures, profile additions, subscriber links, etc.  The more options that you have, the better off you will be.

One of the best features on the Facebook Profile is the subscriber option as shown in my profile below.

Facebook profile

The subscribe button is not generally set when you first put your profile on Facebook.  You have to go in and manually set this.  Now, there is a link where you can go(supposedly) and activate the Facebook “Subscribe” button on your profile here. However, this link never worked for me, so I will show you how to manually go into your Facebook profile and set up your subscriber button in case the link above does not work.

Setting Your Subscribe Button

Facebook

After the next page comes up there will be an option on the left side of your screen for Subscribers as listed below.

From here you can go easily and set up your subscriber settings.  Now everyone can see your updates and you can get yourself out there quicker and more efficiently.

Using Facebook To Its Full Potential

Social media is where the game is played now. With so many Google pets running loose, creative havoc on our blogs and our content the best strategy you can adapt to is social media. Facebook is one of many platforms where you can succeed at. Millions of people every day use this platform and its essential for you to use it too to succeed.

Remember, more is better. The more photos you have of yourself, people can relate to you. The more options you have on your profile page, the easier it is to get your name out there. Utilize the Facebook tools to your advantage!

Creating Pages & Groups

Just like Facebook profiles, creating pages and groups are easy step-by-step processes that can give your blog more visibility.  Getting people to “Like” your Facebook page is essential for more and more people to come to your site.  Just like everything else, this is going to take some time.  Stay consistent with everything.  That’s really the only secret to getting more internet klout.

Include Your Page!

One thing you can do to get more likes on your Facebook page is to include this in your blog. This is done with simple Facebook Badges. Once you decide which badge you would like to promote, fix it on your website. Here is one that I recently created that you can “Like” for me!

In Conclusion:

Facebook is a powerful platform to get noticed on.  It does take some time to get the visibility from people, but, like I said, stay consistent, add friends that are in your niche or share your same ideas and goals, and with time, you will get your blog to where it needs to be!
Social media sites are probably going to be the main way that people get traffic in the future.  So many people are on these sites and it’s time for you to capitalize on these platforms!

Hey, some great recommendations for using Facebook. As we all now there is now a push to being more socially interactive. There is certainly nothing wrong with it either. As I know a large number of network marketers, including myself, who are crushing it in their business’s and online.

Personally, I find groups of like minded people (your niche) to be a great place to connect with others. I also stay away from groups who do nothing but spam their business’s. It’s not how I roll :)

    Thanks for the tips Wade!
