Web Apps To Supercharge Your Online Social Life – Part 1

Social Media is about bringing targeted traffic to your blog. Targeted traffic helps you make more money from your blog than any other traffic. But you can’t do this alone yourself. You need some help from some web apps.

There are quite a few web apps to help supercharge your online social life. That’s why I have decided to divide them into a 4 part series. Part-1 will be all about Twitter.

Twitter has about 200 million active users (as of May 7, 2019). And if you can bring in a only small percentage of that targeted trafficsocial web apps to your blog, that would be huge. Now let’s see what web apps you can use.

NEWS.ME

News.me is an app which acts like a newsletter service. If you follow too many people on Twitter, it can be too much to handle all the tweets and stuffs. News.me takes care of this for you. How ?

It creates a specialized report for you picking only the most important tweets that you are likely to find useful. It chooses the top five tweets for you based on the most number of retweets and replies and directly sends it to your inbox. Here is an example.

POSTPOST

PostPost is another great web app that you can use if you follow too many people on twitter. It can be considered as a powerful search engine for Twitter. Once you sign in with Twitter, you will be prompted to add an e-mail address.  A message will be sent to you once your postpost homepage is ready.

The postpost homepage will contain everything that you and your followers have shared with each other. It is a rich digest of links, photos, videos and of course the tweets that you and the people who follow you have shared with each other. Check out this example page.

TRENDSMAP

Trendsmap is a graphical interface based web app. The latest news and topics are represented on a global map. The best thing about this app that you can search for the latest or trending stories on a geographical basis once you sign in Twitter.

You can use filters based on region, country, city, topics and find hottest buzzwords or keywords. Anyone would be interested with this app because this gives you the opportunity to target not only a certain traffic but also concentrate on a certain region or topic.

TWIANGULATE

Twiangulate is based on triangulation. It basically analyzes the connection between the friends and followers. It displays common followers and friends, influential tweeters, thus helping you get in touch with new people. According to Twiangulate, anyone can use the service.

A job seeker can look for an “in” at a company or which tweeps will influence the manager/boss of a company. Similarly, a person with online business can use this service very effectively if he is looking for any connections that could help out his business.

As a blogger, this service can greatly help you to find your targeted audience and meet some influential person in your niche.

So, that’s it for part-1. Stay tuned for the rest of the series as we have three more posts on this series.

Do share your views with us about what you think of these web apps. We love to get feedbacks.

Seth, thanks for sharing this info. Although I’ve been online for a while, I have only started with social media 3 months ago, so it is a big learning curve. Posts like yours are really helping me catch up fast.

Sharing you on Twitter and Facebook.

I look forward to reading the rest of your series.

  6. Lahaul,

I have to admit, I have never heard of these before but they sound like amazing apps!

Trendsmap would really come in handy for local businesses looking for tweets that are trending in their area to see what maybe they can provide for their customers. For instance, if I was a party planner, I could find out what are the latest trends for where to party and who is the trendsetter in that area. Maybe it would make a great way to get a hold of someone that could help with business.

  7. Great insight on this. I have found that numerous apps and sites help a lot in synchronizing posts on various social media platforms and it basically saves you from the stress of having to do things manually.

  8. Veronica says:

Nice post, I’m really new at this whole thing and I am really surprised on how things are turning out with technology available at the very tips of our fingers.

  9. I just love how technology helps us with day-to-day activities. Thanks to all the apps that have been developed I can post something and it synchronizes all my accounts making it easier for me. It’s definitely less time consuming.

  10. I super love apps like this. For the time-being I use IFTTT but there are still some kinks in the system. But over-all I find it effecient. Thanks for sharing your insight by the way.
